Do not get the obstructed drains blues and use this plan
What are some easy home remedies for eliminating clogged up drains pipes in your bathroom? The quickest and best thing to use to take on the problem is your normal plunger. The process is pretty straightforward to apply. But the last thing you want to do is be too aggressive and pulse to quickly. To ensure that the plunger works effectively, wholly cover the drain with its bell-shaped head, and gently push it down once, and immediately come up, so that suction is created. The suction created with the upward movement will pull back the clog that is stuck in the drain pipe of your tub, sink or toilet. Some washbasins and bathtubs are provided with overspill openings that have to be blocked temporarily with a wet cloth for the plunger to develop effective suction.
An alternative for plunger is a chemical waste pipes clearance product, one that uses corrosive chemical to unclog the blockage of the drainage. This is usually done after you attempt to unplug your drainage using your plunger. Run the chemical into the drainpipe and allow it to work for about 30 minutes before flushing the drainage with hot water. Because these chemicals can be corrosive or contain bleach you should only wear clothes that you are happy to be damaged. Putting on eye cover will be a good idea if you intend to plunge again and prevent the splattering of left over chemicals into your eye. The chemical product comes with specific manufacturer’s directions; it is important to read and follow them carefully.
You can use a pipe wrench or pliers to unscrew the P-trap if you are unable to remove the clog with the plunger, this will give you access to the pipe. You should have a bucket and a towel handy as this can be a really dirty job. Use an electrical tape to encircle the jaws of your wrench so that you can get a better grip on the pipes and also maintain their chrome finish without scratching them. With the trap opened, insert gloved hands to remove any debris that may be blocking the bends. But in case you are unable to find any blockage, chances are that the problem lies deep down between the soil stack and the trap and you will need additional tools.
A toilet auger can be used for unclogging the toilet. A drain snake should be used if you are trying to unclog your sink or tub. Because of their size and length, drain snakes are well designed for getting at stoppages in small spaces in difficult to reach places. Once the snake has reached the blockage you can twist the adjustable handle which will drill into the obstruction so you can then pull the material out. After removing the clog, reassemble the P-trap and let hot water flow into the drainpipe to double check it works properly. Finally, you should double check that everything is sealed properly, tightly screwed into place and make sure that the P-trap does not have any leaks.
After trying all of these methods and you still have a water flow problem, it is time to contact a drainage contractor or local plumber. If the blockage is stuck in the soil stack or the sewer service pipe has cracked either due to age or because of natural causes, then you can do nothing much expect for relying on the expert drains company to solve your problem.
