Can you put a motorcycle on a Greyhound bus?
Can you put a small motorcycle in the luggage area under a Greyhound bus? I’m going cross-country and have no choice, because nobody can pick me up when I get there and the bike is new, and may have problems with such a long trip. I would be willing to pay more for it, and load/unload it myself. It isn’t large or heavy, and people can put things on top of it and, if necessary, I could drain it beforehand. The bike is a 118 Kg 200 cc bike, with a max. 40 inch height. I could remove mirrors and handlebars, and put them in my one carry-on bag. I know it would fit left-right, and back-front I would only need about 3 feef of clearance. It wouldn’t move, and it would be clean.
Please, anyone that knows, REPLY. I need to know as soon as possible, and please only answer if you are sure. Thanks.
Pretty sure you cant.
Why would you want to do this even if you could . It’s best to have it shipped, plus then you would have insurance on it from shipping.
I don’t believe you can – but contact the bus terminal and ask them, they would let you know right away.
No, DOT has special regulations, licensing, and permitting for transporting motorized vehicles. Greyhound is not licensed to transport motorized vehicles. Your other option is to find an auto or recreation vehicle transport company. It does not matter what it weighs. The federal government controls and regulates vehicle transportation.
Charley gave you the best answer. give her 10.
